One summer day in Frog Creek, Pennsylvania, a mysterious tree house appears in the woods. Eight-year-old Jack and his seven-year-old sister, Annie, climb into the tree house and find it is filled with books!

They soon discover that the tree house is magic and can take them to the places in the books. All they have to do is to point to a picture and wish to go there. Join Jack and Annie as the Magic Tree House whirls them to faraway places and long ago times!

In these longer adventures, Jack and Annie enter into the world of magic and fantasy to carry out missions for Merlin the Magician.

For many years, Magic Tree House readers have told me that they love learning facts about the different places and times Jack and Annie visit. So a few years ago, Will and I began working on nonfiction "Research Guides" to go along with Jack and Annie's adventures. There are now ten Magic Tree House Research Guides -- and more coming soon!
